The Plantage Palace is our home, but also so much more. We have been living here since mid-2024, an Amsterdam family with a love for art, culture, and sharing beautiful moments. We believe that this house is not just for us; it is a place to share and let flourish.

The special rooms in the Palace have been designed to offer musicians, artists, and dreamers an inspiring place. Whether you come to play, create, listen, or simply enjoy, the doors are open.

Do you have a great idea to bring this house even more to life? We would love to hear it. The Plantage Paleis is there to be shared, so that Amsterdam becomes a little bit more beautiful.

What can you do here? Almost anything you can imagine! Whether it's a concert, a writing session, a presentation, or something else entirely, if it's analog, creative, and full of passion, it fits perfectly here. This space lives and breathes art.

Come play, create, or simply enjoy the magic of the moment. We are open to your ideas and can't wait to see what you bring to life here.

Do you have a good idea?

For example:

  • You want to rehearse for your concert

  • You want to hold a small concert

  • You want to write together with a group of writers

  • You want to give a lecture on a topic that interests you.

We learn by doing, which is why we keep a list of how the space should and should not be used. You can find it here.

Facilities

  • A spacious, inviting entrance where you feel welcome as soon as you step inside. Hang up your coat and let the magic begin.

    • There is a coat rack with hangers.

    • There is a double entrance: the main entrance and the old service entrance, both leading to the concert hall.

    • The large entrance is only for larger events.

    • We use the old service entrance for rehearsals and smaller gatherings.

  • A beautiful space for artists to prepare right next to the concert hall; we are still furnishing it.

  • There is a beautiful Steinway B concert grand piano, which has been in the family for some time and, with its rich sound and perfection, ensures a sublime musical experience in the concert hall.

  • The heart of Plantage Paleis. A beautiful space with excellent acoustics, where classical music comes to life. Perfect for intimate concerts, with a direct connection between artist and audience.

    • There are 30 seats available for the audience and a fireplace in case it gets cold in winter.

  • A small, well-equipped pantry for beverages, ideal for both performers and guests during events or breaks. Available are a

    • Quooker

    • Refrigerator

    • Coffee machine (filter & Nespresso)

    • Tableware

  • For other needs.

  • If you want an audience, you must use our free ticket system so that we can keep track of who is coming in.

Rules

Some obvious rules for use:

  • You leave the space as you found it: clean, tidy, and replenished where necessary.

  • The parameters of use are determined by the residents and neighbors.

  • You have good liability insurance for any damage.
